artbl.a #9 - OONA

artbl.a #9 was an exploration of OONA’s project Dear David, an ongoing conversation of surveillance, digital trace, and constructed narrative.

Guests were not given the story, instead, they were handed fragments: printed emails, photographs, pieces of correspondence. From these clues, each person built their own version of what Dear David was and how it came to be. The space became loud, investigative, slightly conspiratorial: everyone piecing something together.

Only at the end were the artworks that form the Dear David series revealed and placed next to the narratives guests had formed in their minds; sometimes aligning, sometimes not.

The evening unfolded as a slow, participatory investigation; moving between silence and conversation, suspicion and curiosity.

About OONA

OONA is an anonymous performance artist active in the crypto art scene since 2021, OONA explores the intersections of technology, identity, and gender. Recognized by her mask and dark sunglasses, she uses anonymity as a method and performance in itself. Her practice examines power, value, and the commodification of the female form within digital culture.

Her ongoing series Dear David extends these concerns into an intimate exchange with Transport for London’s CCTV Data manager that blurs authorship, consent, and surveillance. Through it, OONA reflects on visibility, connection, and the nature of humanity in a mediated world.
